DF: Either there will be a census or there will be no government

Running away from the census is running away from truth and reality, proof of weakness and retreat before those whom we defeated on August 30 precisely by defending our identity. Either there will be a census or there will be no government. That's enough.

This is what the Democratic Front (DF) told Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić after he said that "it is hard to expect that a census will be organized in Montenegro this year" because it is necessary to make a sufficiently good preparation with numerous tests "in order to carry it out".

They said that Krivokapić should "forget about the Mercedes S class, the "small" plane, the places of honor at the table, all the things you got by the will of people who know who and what they are and who want it finally verified in the first freely organized census since 1945" if the law ensuring the implementation of the traditional census from November 1 of this year is not on the agenda of the Assembly in September.

They believe that by announcing that the census will not be held this year, Krivokapić is agreeing to the results of what they called the falsified census from 2011, "which was conducted by the DPS under conditions of dictatorship and blackmail", and it is not acceptable for the census to be organized now, when it could be held, as they say, freely and when, after 75 years, a realistic picture of Montenegro could be established.

They added that the person who advised him that the members of the Coalition for the Future of Montenegro "will also swallow this betrayal of the interests of our voters, because of "higher goals", made a big mistake."

"It's over, Zdravko... The dream of ruling without the support of MPs and the affirmation of Milo Đukanović's achievements is over. The eventual non-holding of the census would be directly directed against the Serbian people in Montenegro, against those people who won on August 30, and who, among other things, fought for Montenegro to return to itself and its traditions after decades of persecution and erasure of Serbian identity," the Democratic Front announced on its official Facebook page.

According to them, the census should be one of the confirmations that changes have taken place in Montenegro and that no one can and must not deprive the citizens of that right and that they are "closely monitoring whether someone will be ready to betray that struggle".

With this move, they believe, the Prime Minister directly goes into the hands of "hysterical anti-Serbism, Montenegrin extremism and those who are ready to invade the churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church".

"It sounds almost tragicomic that almost a year after the election, the director of Monstat, Gordana Radojević, DPS hawk and falsifier of the last census, as well as other data necessary for DPS to deceive the nation, has not been dismissed. However, even she called for the adoption of the Law on the Census and assessed that the preparatory activities under Monstat's jurisdiction are over," said the DF.
