End the boycott and return to the Assembly, because until you adopt the Census Law and show your own responsibility, we will not be able to carry out the census when we planned, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić said.
Krivokapić reacted to the announcement of the Democratic Front in which it is stated that there will be no Government if there is no population census.
He clarified that the population census is a serious process that requires time, resources and infrastructure, and above all the Law on the Census, and that no political party should protest against his statement, but should ask how much and how it contributed to "getting into a situation where we fear that it will not be possible to carry out the census that we as the Government planned to take place in the fourth quarter of this year."
Krivokapić points out that the census is clearly outlined in the Government's program and that the budget for 2021 has allocated money for its implementation, but that we do not have a law.
"Why don't we have a law?! Because a part of the parliamentary majority kept political tensions non-stop, taking us away from real goals and eventually turning them into a boycott of the Assembly. Gentlemen from the DF, stop the boycott and return to the Assembly, you will get the Law on the Population Census. Adopt it and let's start the procedures. Until you do that, until you show your own responsibility and not transfer it to someone else, and return to the parliament to continue adopting the legal regulation we need, I have no choice but to express to the citizens in time the fear that we will not be able to carry out the census when we planned," announced the Prime Minister.
The census is not only a national declaration, he believes, but an incomparably wider range of issues, but also a national declaration that no one can, nor wants to deny, no matter what religion or nation he is.
"The working group is working tirelessly to draft the law on the census, but we ask you to whom we will send it to the Assembly when it is completed? Where will the DF vote for and take responsibility for the census? In the Assembly during regular work, or outside the Assembly, to thwart the census and then blame someone else," said Krivokapić's reaction.
