It would be very useful for the future president of Montenegro to be a person who comes from outside politics, bearing in mind the depth of Montenegrin divisions, said Program Director of the Civic Alliance Boris Raonic.
He said it while commenting assessment of Bosniak Party leader Rafet Husović that it would be curative if a non-party personality was the candidate who would win the presidential elections.
"If it is estimated that there is no such candidate, then Djukanović's candidacy is possible," said Husović.
Raonic told the MINA agency that, considering the depth of Montenegrin divisions, it would be very useful for the future president of the country to be a person who comes from outside politics, unencumbered by current divisions and tensions.
"In order to finally get an institution that can start a dialogue and integrate all parts of society in that process. Otherwise, our divisions will deepen and gain in intensity," Raonic assessed.
According to him, with this in mind, Husović's idea gains weight.
"Also, people without political involvement will not find themselves in a situation like we've had so far, to spend three mandates without leaving behind any statesmanship worth remembering," said Raonic.
He said that considering all aspects, from the prerequisites in the necessary regulations, through campaign financing, to the party-cratic mood of the voters, it is unrealistic to expect something like that.
"Because the government itself is aware that such relations in the opposition work for them, because it is difficult to expect support for any opposition candidate in the second round from the rest of the opposition," concluded Raonic.
