We are creating an environment in which the Police and the Prosecutor's Office can carry out their activities based on the principles of legality and professionalism, without the influence of power centers associated with politics, dubious business or organized crime, so that we can expect such and similar police actions in the future as well, said Miodrag Laković, adviser for national security of the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro.
Laković pointed out that the Cabinet of the Vice President is making efforts to encourage and encourage all law enforcement agencies to, in accordance with legal norms and professional standards, systematically and efficiently undertake measures within their jurisdiction, which are directed at all forms of crime, especially those with elements corruption and organized crime.
"In this sense, in the coming period we will work on strengthening these institutions, through organizational, technical, methodological and personnel improvement, as well as changes in the legal regulations, which will lead to a higher level of efficiency, achieving better results, and ultimately, fulfilling the criteria for negotiating chapters 23 and 24 as a key product for progress in the accession negotiations with the European Union," concluded Laković.
