The Cetinje club of councilors of Democratic Montenegro condemned the attack on councilor Slavko Šol Janković and her colleagues from URA in front of the Assembly of Prijestonica.
"Verbal and physical attacks, threats, attempts at intimidation, extremism and persecution due to political activity, due to different opinions, free public speech are characteristic of a retrograde system of values that in this region are inherited only by the agents of the former regime and the Democrats, whose officials were the targets of attacks countless times the same structures will always raise their voices and condemn this kind of behavior," they said.
They add that the Democrats strongly advocate for a culture of dialogue, tolerance and mutual respect and appreciation, for a legal state in which all citizens will feel safe and in which all problems will be solved through discussion.
"We have to work together on this, because Montenegro has just started its path to democratization, after the removal of the totalitarian regime of Milo Đukanović. All the politics, ideology and complete actions of the DPS and their partners are summed up in two sentences of their councilor Milo Janković, which he sent today to his colleague Šol Janković: "What kind of party are you when you don't all think the same!? We in DPS all think the same," said the Democrats.
