The President of the Assembly Aleksa Bečić is the host of the conference of the presidents of the parliaments of small European countries, which will be held from Sunday, October 3 to Tuesday, October 5 in Herceg Novi.
The Assembly announced that during the conference, participants will discuss the challenges and advantages for small states in terms of innovation and modernization of parliaments.
Participants will also discuss the role of parliaments in contemporary environmental challenges, as well as the parliamentary diplomacy of small European states.
The Assembly said that the conference will be opened on Monday, at ten o'clock, with a speech by Bečić, and the opening part will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović and President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi Stevan Katic.
"The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Luxembourg Fernang Etgen, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Anita Demetriou, President of the National Council of Monaco Stefan Valeri, Speaker of the Parliament of Andorra Roser Sune Pascuet will participate in the conference," says the announcement.
It is stated that other high representatives of the parliaments of Monaco, Luxembourg, Cyprus, San Marino and Iceland will also participate.
"Within certain sessions, the president of the Committee for International Relations and Emigrants Miodrag Lekić, Minister of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media Tamara Srzentić, Secretary General of the Assembly Aleksandar Klarić and Director General of the Directorate for Nature Tamara Brajović will speak," the statement added.
The Assembly said that the host of the working dinner, which will be attended by Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović and Acting President of the Chamber of Commerce Nina Drakić, will be Katic.
As they stated, the official opening of the conference, the day before, will be preceded by a welcome dinner hosted by Bečić.
At the end of the conference, as the Assembly said, a joint declaration will be adopted.
