Democratic Front (DF) official Simonida Kordić said, as a guest on the "Arguments" show on TVCG, that the current government is unsustainable, which is why it needs to be changed. The Vice-President of Democratic Montenegro Vladimir Martinović believes that dialogue is the only solution for the agreement of the parliamentary majority, while the executive director of the URA GP Zoran Mikić pointed out that the movement adheres to the principle of an expert government.
Democratic Front (DF) official Simonida Kordić said that the current government is unsustainable, which is why it needs to be changed.
"At the moment, we have a situation that is unsustainable in terms of the further functioning of the Government. There is a very high degree of agreement of the parliamentary majority regarding this. Practically, 38 deputies of the parliamentary majority do not support the Government, while three deputies, primarily Ura, would maintain this position, which is impossible. Or it provides some alternative models that have already proven to be ineffective," Kordić believes.
Kordić states that we have a whole series of economic parameters that indicate that the promise of the Government and the justified expectation of citizens to live better has not come true. He believes that we have a state apparatus that is dysfunctional and has been collapsing in the last year.
"We have very bad economic indicators that clearly show that this Government is not functioning as expected, asking for 200 days to check its effectiveness. You have a problem with the Judicial Council, the Prosecutor's Council, the parliament is blocked, the State Election Commission is not working. The Constitutional Court is functioning on the border of the quorum," Kordić added.
The Vice-President of Democratic Montenegro, Vladimir Martinović, pointed out that dialogue is the only solution for the agreement of the parliamentary majority.
"We do not want elections before 2024. The citizens did not give us a mandate to return Milo Đukanović to power after a year or two, but we received a full mandate to lead this country until 2024," Martinović pointed out.
Martinović said that citizens do not want constant bickering and arguments from politicians.
"Democratic Montenegro has not had any conditions or ultimatums in these years. We behaved very responsibly towards the citizens and towards our obligations, which we were able to perform as part of the parliamentary majority," added Martinović.
The executive director of GP URA, Zoran Mikić, points out that this movement adheres to the principle of "expert government".
"Government reconstruction is possible only on the expert, non-partisan basis. If we cannot agree on such a model of reconstruction, then it is a new political moment. This means resetting political agreements from the beginning. At that moment, we would have to sit down at the table to agree on all political functions. Mikić explained.
Mikić points out that if there is no agreement by the parliamentary majority, the government will continue to function until someone overthrows it in the parliament.
"This government, in the environment in which it worked, achieved enviable results," Mikić pointed out, adding that there is room for improvement.
Mikić reminds that this Government managed to maintain public finances, to provide one of the best tourist seasons, as well as a large number of vaccines against the coronavirus.
