The special envoy of the United States of America (USA) for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, announced that the Government of Montenegro currently has the support of the USA.
"I can say that the challenges are to find partners to form the government who reject corruption and who accept Montenegro's path to Europe," Escobar told Al Jazeera Balkans.
When asked how he sees "what is called pro-Serbian or pro-Russian influence in Montenegro", Eskobar said that pro-Serbian or pro-Russian influence are different aspects.
"It is true that there is a certain party that manages to mix both, but we do not see the problem that the countries of the region do not have good relations, in fact that is the goal as far as pro-Russian influence is concerned. I am not sure that Russia is interested in Montenegro's European path. Government of Montenegro "Gore has our support and we hope that he will continue to reject those voices that reject the European integration of Montenegro," said Eskobar.
He says that there will be no war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and that economic progress should be discussed.
He says that talks are being held with many people in BiH in order to see how to proceed. He also said that sanctions in Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be directed against individuals.
The US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has the support of the US as long as he continues to follow the European path.
Regarding the relationship with Serbia, he says that it is "neither good nor bad, it is complicated."
