The meeting of Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, during his visit to Belgrade, with diplomats who are accredited in Serbia, and whose countries have resident diplomats in Montenegro, is an unprecedented case in wider diplomatic practice, said the president and deputy of Demos Miodrag Lekić.
He assessed that it was "perhaps the most bizarre" detail in the overall "unprepared visit, without content, with program twists and protocol failures, at times humiliating moments and rather empty statements".
"We should wait for an explanation from the Montenegrin government about the motives for this meeting, which was obviously initiated by the Montenegrin side. For example, what Krivokapić told the governments of France, Italy, Germany, etc. through their ambassadors in Serbia, and he could not do it through the ambassadors of the same countries who accredited in Montenegro," said Lekić on Facebook.
Everything, he adds, can be understood as an underestimation, even an insult to the accredited ambassadors in Montenegro.
"Of course, they will not say it publicly, but conclude that with this move the Prime Minister and the Montenegrin diplomatic side have said much more about themselves."
"Is this new playing with the state at the cost of frivolity, now not only the actors of these incredible improvisations and gaffes, but frivolity that unfortunately also creates a certain image of the country," concluded Lekić.
