The President's decision to hold elections in Cetinje, Mojkovac and Petnjica was made in accordance with the Constitution and the Law and is already an integral part of the legal system of Montenegro, our legal order and we cannot ignore it, said President Milo Đukanović during today's visit to Cetinje.
The initiative on the unification of local elections is, as he points out, good, but it must be launched in accordance with the legal order of Montenegro and launched in a timely manner so that there are conditions to achieve this goal, without at the same time jeopardizing the constitutional and legal system of Montenegro and free expression of the will of citizens in the elections.
Đukanović pointed out, as reported by Cetinjski list, that even when he participates in pre-election campaigns, he takes care to act like the president of the state.
During his visit to the capital, the state president spoke with the mayor Aleksandar Kašćelan and the local leadership.
As announced by the Information Service of the President of Montenegro, they informed Đukanović about the functioning of the administration, realized and planned obstacles in that city.
Đukanović expressed his satisfaction with the development plans and functioning of the municipality, which, as stated, was also contributed to by the Law on the Capital City. He welcomed the fact that in the last three years, the Administration managed to pay back about three million euros of debt, that through development programs it invests about 20 million euros in the city, that more than 3,6 million euros were invested in road infrastructure in rural areas, and that "takes special care of social policy". He stressed the importance of continuing the activities on the key infrastructure project of better water supply, as well as creating assumptions for the creation of new jobs.
During his visit, Đukanović toured the works at the city stadium, visited the plant for processing and drying meat of the company "Gornič" and met with local businessmen.
