The Democratic Front accused the Government of Montenegro, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić that by appointing Miroslav Pejović as acting director of Monstat, they sent a message that there will be no census next year either.
In the press release, DF labeled Pejović as a "proven DPS member".
"The Government of Montenegro, and especially the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare, continues to appoint proven members of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and satellites of that party to the most responsible positions," said this political alliance, adding that the public was recently informed that almost all important positions in that ministry were occupied by members of the presidency of the Social Democrats and personnel from Duško Marković's government.
"Now it has been announced that a proven DPS member was also awarded the position of director of Monstat, and that in the midst of the story about the population census, which was supposed to take place this year, but was directly prevented by the government of Zdravko Krivokapić," DF said. .
They claim that the election of the director of Monstat took place without prior consultation with the parliamentary majority, which is just another violation of the agreement between the parliamentary majority and the Government.
"With the arrival of a man from DPS at the head of Monstat, at the express wish of Minister Spajić, a clear message is being sent to the citizens that there will be no census in Montenegro next year either. In this way, the government is preventing a census from being held for the first time after the Second World War, which would realistically presented the situation in Montenegro. Voters of the ZBCG coalition were deceived, to whom Krivokapić toasted and congratulated during the election campaign for holding a fair census".
They add that this case also showed that "Krivokapić and his henchmen" badly misled the citizens who brought victory on August 30, who expected it to cross paths with the policies of the former regime and that, "especially in the census, it would be shown that the Black After decades of assimilation of the Serbian people, Gora returned to itself and to its traditional values".
They state that on August 11, DF told Krivokapić that there will be no government if the population census is not held by the end of the year, which, according to them, was a legal obligation of the executive power.
"A year after the formation of the government, it is clear that the story about the dismantling of the former regime was cheap propaganda and a colorful lie, and in reality, as some members of the government have admitted, the continuity of Milo Đukanović's internal and foreign policy continues. That is why the DF is demanding the election of a new government , and it is the only logical way out of this difficult situation, in which we have DPS in most places where DPS used to be. The time has come for mutual political scores to be settled, and DF will not lie to its supporters and take responsibility for those who are given their word and a firm agreement means nothing," the statement concluded.
