DPS retained power in Petnjica

President of the Petnjica Municipal Election Commission Adis Durakovic he said that on 100 percent of the counted ballots, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) won 17 out of 31 council seats and thereby preserved power.

"The Justice and Reconciliation Party won three mandates, the Social Democratic Party one mandate, the Social Democrats two mandates, the Bosniak Party six mandates, the DPS 17 mandates, the Democrats two mandates, the SNP has no mandates," said Duraković.

DPS will thus continue to exercise local authority in Petnjica.

Holder of the DPS list dr Erol Muratovic He confirmed to the news that that party will have 17 councilors, and that they will continue to lead the municipality.

"I can only tell you that there are no losers and I call on all citizens to develop our municipality together," Muratović said last night after the polls closed.

DPS had 20 councilors in the previous elections, three more than this time. SD has fewer mandates - by one, and BS mandate more.

In Petnjica, even this time, not even half of the registered citizens with the right to vote, of whom there are officially 6.264, went to the polls. According to the last section, the turnout was only slightly higher than 45 percent.

There were eight parties in the race for one of the 31 councilors - SPP, SDP, SD, BS, DPS, Democrats and SNP.

The holder of the Party of Justice and Reconciliation list believes that the local political scene will not be exactly as it was in the previous four years Almir Muratović. He says that they have won three mandates.

"That was our projection before the election and it came true. Maybe we will have a fourth councilor", said Muratović.

A positive trend was also expected in Democratic Montenegro last night. They also had only one councilor in the previous convocation, while now, according to party projections, they have three seats in the local parliament.

The Bosniak party announced last night that it had achieved electoral success, which is confirmation, they claim, that the party continues to lead the right policy.

"Our electoral success is reflected in the fact that we won six council mandates, which is an increase of one mandate compared to the previous elections. Compared to the last local elections, we achieved an increase of almost one hundred votes, while also compared to the last parliamentary elections, we achieved an increase of more than 50 votes", the announcement states.

Leader of Democratic Montenegro Aleksa Becic he said that the party achieved a growth of 150 percent.

"The confirmation of our civic profile is precisely the result in Petnjica. The Democrats recorded a growth of around 150 percent and achieved 8 percent of support," wrote Bečić on his Twitter profile.

Leader of SDP Rasko Konjević he said that a 70 percent better result was achieved in Petnjica.

"In Petnjica, the SDP's result was 70 percent better than in the parliamentary elections. Thank you Petnjica," Konjević wrote on Twitter.
