Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović will, at the invitation of her British colleague Elizabeth Trass, participate in the meeting of heads of diplomacy of the Western Balkan countries in London on Monday, December 13.
The participation of the head of Montenegrin diplomacy at that event will further affirm Montenegro's commitment to the European path, regional stability and security, and confirm our country's commitment to fulfilling its obligations from the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
"The meeting in London will provide an opportunity to exchange opinions on the improvement of the security framework in the Western Balkans, as well as plans for the modernization and decarbonization of the economy in the Region. Since this meeting will be preceded by a meeting of foreign ministers of the G7 group in Liverpool, where the Western Balkans will be discussed , the event in London will represent an opportunity to analyze the conclusions of that meeting and consider the possibility of speeding up reform processes in areas that are of key importance for the Region," the department added.
Radulović, after his visit to London, will pay an official visit to Albania on December 15 and 16, at the invitation of the country's head of diplomacy, Oljta Džačka.
During his visit to the neighboring country, the head of diplomacy will have meetings with the highest state officials, with whom he will discuss the European perspective of the two countries and the entire Western Balkans, as well as "the challenges of the enlargement policy that we are facing", the MFA added.
"In the context of bilateral cooperation, the official visit to Albania will confirm the very good relations between the two countries, with the aim of further strengthening them through the improvement of political dialogue and cooperation on a regional and multilateral level," the announcement states.
The visit to Albania will be an opportunity to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries, which will establish a more permanent framework of cooperation in the field of training diplomatic personnel of Montenegro and Albania.
Radulović will open the Honorary Consulate in Shkodër headed by Honorary Consul Soklj Hodža and will meet with representatives of the Montenegrin community in Albania.
