Today, five new members of the Prosecutor's Council were elected in the Assembly from among prominent lawyers and the NGO sector.
Lawyers Siniša Gazivoda, Miloš Vuksanović, Filip Jovović and Borivoje Đukanović were elected as new members of the Prosecutor's Council from among distinguished lawyers. Stevo Muk from the Institute of Alternatives was elected as a member of TS from the NGO.
Miloš Vuksanović received the support of 41 deputies (all from the government), and two deputies abstained.
44 MPs voted for Siniša Gazivoda, while one abstained. Apart from the government, Gazivoda was also supported by SDP MPs Raško Konjević and Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, as well as Genci Nimanbega (Albanska lista).
Borivoje Đukanović received the support of 42 deputies (the government and Genca Nimanbegu), and one abstained.
43 MPs voted for Filip Jovović (the government, Nimanbega and Fatmir Đeka from the Albanian coalition Unanimous), and one abstained.
Stevo Muk received the support of 43 deputies (the government, Nimanbegu and Andrija Popović from the Liberal Party).
No one was against the election of the mentioned candidates, and DPS and SD did not express themselves.
According to the amendments to the Law on State Prosecution, the TS has 11 members - five from the ranks of prosecutors, four distinguished lawyers, one lawyer from an NGO and a representative of the Ministry of Justice.
The President of the Assembly, Aleksa Bečić, announced at the beginning of August six members of the TS, including the acting (acting) Supreme State Prosecutor (VDT) Dražen Burić, four prosecutors who were elected at the Conference of State Prosecutors - Đurđina Nina Ivanović, Sanja Jovićević, Tatjana Begović and Nikola Samardžić - and representative of the Ministry of Justice Boris Marić.

The Committee for Political System, Judiciary and Administration proposed at its session on Monday to elect lawyers Siniša Gazivoda, Miloš Vuksanović, Filip Jovović and Borivoj Đukanović as new members of the Prosecutorial Council.
They were supported by members of the government, while the leader and deputy of the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) Raško Konjević also voted for Gazivoda.
Deputies of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and Social Democrats (SD) did not vote in protest due to, as they stated, the absence of dialogue between the government and the opposition about the candidates.
Deputies of the ruling majority also passed a decision on the dismissal of the chairman of the Council of the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data, Sreten Radonjić, as well as the member of that body, Bojan Obrenović.
Milan Radović was elected as a member of the Council of the Electronic Media Agency by the votes of 50 deputies.
The draft law on the tax on withdrawing money from a business account, amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government Financing and amendments to the Law on State and Other Holidays have been withdrawn from the procedure.
