Milačić: URA and SNP to stop abuses of the Church

Prava Montenegro called on the Civic Movement URA and the Socialist People's Party (SNP) to stop the "abuse of the Church" and, as they stated, "torture healthy relations within it and not to use the Basic Agreement as a piece of the mosaic of traitorous politics."

Prava President and MP Marko Milačić reacted to the press conference of Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and asked him "who is actually defending the armchairs".

"Mr. Abazović, since you mentioned the defense of the armchairs, we ask you who is defending the armchairs? You, who with the SNP and the DPS are planning the formation of a new parliamentary majority and a new, minority government, avoiding the elections, or those who want new elections in the desire to not at what cost will the electoral will of the citizens not be overturned," said Milačić.

He added that Abazović is "again messing with the Church, this time Metropolitan Joaniki, for his daily political and propaganda purposes".

"Where did you get the right to refer to the Church while promoting Milo Đukanović's views in Montenegro? Where did you get the right and the audacity to mention Metropolitan Joaniki, to refer to him? You do not refer to the Metropolitan, the elder in Montenegro, when you go to the Serbian Patriarch that you personally and at your request on the eve of Saint Sava inform him about Montenegro? It's as if the Patriarch does not have his brothers and sisters and the Church in Montenegro with whom he works and cooperates, but he needs you. It's a little wrong to think that you are starting to convey your views to the Metropolitan Patriarch and to convey to him the positions of the Church on the events in Montenegro. You are trying to create a suggestive spirit of relations in our Church, mistrust among the brothers and the hierarchy, national mistrust in the people, and Mr. Joković and many others are helping you wholeheartedly in this. You are trying to create suspicious relations among fellow believers, that you and others like you bring the truth about the Metropolitanate to the Serbian Patriarch, and that Metropolitan Joanikije is only a mute observer of Dritan Abazović's obscure play. Don't meddle with the Church in your political games," Milacic said.

The leader of Prava also stated in the statement that "what Đukanović said for his "partners in the ruling majority" in December 2021", that Abazović and Joković "are speaking today in January 2022 for Montenegro but also for Serbia and for the international community".

"At the same time, they lied to the international community because they brought strong internal instability to Montenegro, and Serbia because they brought it the story of the false inclusion of Serbs in Montenegrin institutions, and the people who voted for them on August 30 because they betrayed it and led it to streets. Now the blame should be shifted to that people and to those political subjects who stayed with the people and to those deals and agreements they made with GP URA and with other coalition partners and with the international community. You fear the election as much as the citizens. That Đukanović's modus operandi has been for years and this nation is immune to that political virus. Mr. Abazović, the only destabilization of Montenegro is the one you manage together with Vladimir Joković. True Montenegro calls on both the URU and the SNP to stop abusing our Church and tormenting healthy relations in itself and that they do not use the Basic Agreement as a mosaic piece of their treacherous policy, but to clearly answer what the DPS and the opposition are looking forward to as the fourth of February approaches? "Why is the DPS, if it really is still the opposition, running away from the elections today with the URA and the SNP, as well as others," Milačić concluded.
