Vuksanović Stanković security threatened: "Attacks will not shake us in the fight for European Montenegro"

Social Democratic Party MP Draginja Vuksanović Stanković said that yesterday the director of the Police Administration, Zoran Brđanin, informed her that her security was threatened and that her place of residence would be secured, as there were indications of an attack on her.

"I do not perceive this personally as an attack on me, but as an attack of backward and nationalist politics on everything that reflects the civic, multi-ethnic and European nature of Montenegro. I am telling everyone that in this fight absolutely this and other attacks on me, my colleagues and all those Montenegrin citizens who did not agree to be servants to official Belgrade, will not discourage us and waver in the further fight for a civil and European state," the MP told Vijesti.

She reported that she was told by the Police Department that her place of residence would be secured.

"I will continue to bravely and courageously stand on the side of everything that represents the civic, multi-ethnic and European being of Montenegro, and in that part I know that I have the support of the citizens and that we will all fight for what Montenegro should be - and that is part of the European family, and not to build on retrograde policy," she said.

When asked if what is happening to her is the result of verbal violence on social networks and that the state has not done anything to change it, the SDP member of parliament reminded that for the past year and a half she has been a constant target through various misogynistic and sexist attacks.

"They came not only from Montenegro, but also from Serbia - by certain political figures through Happy Television. I was targeted by certain ministers, but that did not discourage me. I would not comment on the silence of the outgoing Prime Minister and the President of the Assembly... There was silence, but there is a saying that says - whoever stays silent agrees. Everyone should do their job as they think they should," said Vuksanović Stanković, stating that no one will fail her in her efforts and goals.
