The Women's Club of the Parliament of Montenegro announced that they were horrified to learn that a "monstrous attack was planned" on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, after a working lunch with the special envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain for the Western Balkans, Stuart Pich.
"We must not even think about what would have happened, if our colleague did not have earlier commitments and left the working lunch before the planned end, and disrupted the planned plan with monsters. That is why we strongly condemn this act and warn all of us as a society to think, what is this is happening and where is this leading us. Where has 'humanity and heroism' disappeared? After a barrage of vile, vulgar insults, sexist and misogynistic attacks, these 'heroes' dared to deal physically with our colleague, just because they are bothered by her political attitude. For months on social networks, portals and obscure television shows, they drew a target for her. This has really become unbearable, the bottom has been reached. A red alarm has been lit," states the statement signed by the co-presidents of the Women's Club, Branka Bošnjak and Vesna Pavićević.
They also asked why women with attitudes bother them.
"Who cares about the Women's Club, which is perhaps the only bright spot in this political gray and which has shown that despite political and ideological differences, we can do good things together for the benefit of our society, and these values are recognized by our international partners. But it is obvious started to bother some structures that want conflicts, so these days they are very intensively inquiring about our work, whether and who pays us for it, and they regularly 'honor' us with various 'compliments,'" the statement added.
That women in politics are a nuisance, as they said, is also confirmed by the fact that security had to be hired for ministers Vesna Bratić and Jelena Borovinić Bojović due to serious threats, and "the pinnacle of dishonor and moral failure", add Bošnjak and Pavićević, is the planned attack on Vuksanović Stanković .
"The last straw and this is an alarm for the whole society, there are no brakes when it comes to women in public life, they are insulted, belittled, threatened, physical attacks are planned, and on the other hand, to make the picture complete, only in a few months, three young women are shot or beaten to death by their partners, and the institutions of the system did not respond to their cries. unprotected in Montenegro," the announcement concludes.
