The competent authorities should shed light on the case of the theft of cigarettes from the Free Zone of the Port of Bar as soon as possible, in order to find out who is doing the dirty work for the smuggling mafia, because dealing with crime and corruption is the priority of every government, the Socialist People's Party said.
"It seems that the mafia still has its tentacles in Montenegro, that they are deeply rooted and that dealing with it will be a difficult task for the new Government, as it was for the previous one. Theft of cigarettes from the Free Customs Zone in the Port of Bar, continued is smuggling affairs, and the fact that everything was 'accidentally discovered' and ended as if according to a movie script, is confirmation that the smuggling mafia has collaborators in the responsible bodies in whose jurisdiction this sector is," the SNP announced.
From that party, they asked if it was possible that in the age of developed digital technologies and video surveillance, which was established in the Port of Bar and in many locations in that city, it is not possible to reconstruct the movement of dozens of truckers who brought cigarettes.
"The question is how ready and capable are the services that need to deal with this type of crime and whether it is possible for such things to happen at this moment, after major police actions during the seizure of large quantities of narcotics," the statement concludes.
