The list "SDP and Citizens - With all my heart for Cetinje" announced today that it considers the offer of the Cetinje committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) unworthy.
On February 9, the DPS of Cetinje offered the SDP to jointly form the government in Cetinje, so that the position of the head of the Assembly of Prijestonia and two positions of deputy mayor of Prijestonia will belong to the SDP.
"Colleagues from the DPS, we do not want and do not allow the story of the future of Cetinje to be reduced to a trade of functions. That is why we consider the offer you made unworthy, and just such an approach is a key legacy from the previous period that marked the general decline of our capital. Civil and the open concept that we offer gives us the right to propose that the candidate for the mayor of Cetinje in the current term be a non-partisan person from the list "With all my heart for Cetinje", someone who, with his reputation and knowledge, will stamp the restoration and recovery of Cetinje, while the president of the Assembly of the Capital was a DPS candidate," the announcement of the list "SDP and Citizens – With all my heart for Cetinje" points out.
They added that they also propose as an option that the representative of their election list, according to the principle of rotation, be the mayor in the first half of the term, while the representative of DPS would be the candidate for mayor in the second half of the term.
"We remind you that our key demand is a fundamental change in the way of governing, depoliticization and the opening of local administration for all those who can help Cetinje with their knowledge and honest attitude, without necessarily having a membership card of any party," the announcement reads.
From the list "SDP and Citizens - With all my heart for Cetinje" they said that their list had an offer to cover almost all important functions, but it refused that offer because it is not in line with the political principles they stand for.
"So much for who cares about the position. It should be clear to colleagues from DPS that after years of bad management of Cetinje and the 40 million debt they left behind, nothing can be the same. It is also clear that those personnel who contributed to the collapse Cetinje can no longer be a part of the local government, and a detailed review of the business operations in the previous period must be carried out, and all those who have violated the law should be prosecuted", said the list "SDP and Citizens - With all my heart for Cetinje".
According to them, positions in local administration must be given to the best, based on clear criteria of knowledge and expertise, and not on the basis of a party booklet.
"These are our principles, and we believe that it is time to talk in that way, and not through unworthy bidding for positions, when discussing the future local government. The SPC has no right to measure the patriotism and devotion to the state of the SDP and the "SDP and Citizens" list," the announcement concludes.
