The URA civil movement announced that Democratic Montenegro "actively sabotaged, postponed and rendered meaningless the election of the new Prosecutor's Council for a full seven months".
"Persistently shifting the ball of blame into our backyard, (Aleksa) Bečić and (Boris) Bogdanović ignore that it was they who actively sabotaged, delayed and rendered meaningless the election of the new Prosecutorial Council (TS), and thus the dismissal of former special state prosecutor Milivoj Katnić." ", stated in the announcement of GP URA.
They add that this is "clear to every citizen, including Bečić himself".
"Who now, instead of unreservedly welcoming the impact of the law that the URA stood for and fought for, and which made all this possible, pathetically repeats meaningless accusations through its "loud shouters". Maybe someone would believe them that there is no internet search option and evidence of who advocated for this country to move forward, and who advocated for the reconstruction of the Government before the election of the Prosecutor's Council so that more Democrats would get seats, because the existing ones, of which there are hundreds, seem insufficient," the announcement states.
They add that "such irresponsible behavior of Bečić and his eternally restrained deputies", from July to December of last year, "made it impossible to fight against organized crime and corruption at a high level, but also left room for organized criminal groups to carry out their activities unhindered".
"To repeat, if the Prosecutor's Council was elected in July, we would already have tangible results in these areas, so the process of European integration would not be blocked, and the democratization of the state would be impossible. That is why, at the very least, when these topics are mentioned, Aleksa and Boris they should be traditionally restrained," concludes the statement of the GP URA.
