The vice-president of DEMOS, Ksenija Milović, said that the period during which the status quo continues with the outgoing and incoming government, all to the direct detriment of Montenegro, is the last moment to find a serious alternative.
As stated in the announcement, "a necessary condition for possibly showing the maturity of the Montenegrin political scene is to abandon the dominant politics of parties in which partial interest is camouflaged with demagogue-pathetic rhetoric before the state interest."
"It is also necessary to stop obsessive personal promotions that additionally create confusion and the image of the country's frivolity. Due to the continuation of the status quo to the detriment of citizens, and in very difficult and risky international conditions, it is necessary to try dialogue first in the parliamentary majority that won the trust of citizens on August 30 "If there is public resistance to this in the majority, then try to have a conversation in the wider political spectrum so that, with the responsible attitude of all actors, a legitimate solution can be reached that would stop immature political games and the continuation of dangerous divisions," said Milović.
She said that such a solution would "partially freeze political differences, achieve at least a minimum of the country's unity, and thereby improve its international credibility, all as a transitional form towards prepared and regular political elections over a period of time."
"If this scenario of the country's maturity is not possible, elections should be organized, even if they bring new social upheavals and instability," concluded Milović.
