The Vice-President of the Democratic Party of Socialists Sanja Damjanović called on the Speaker of the Assembly Strahinja Bulajić "to convene a session as soon as possible to discuss urgent measures regarding the situation regarding the prices of almost all products that are of vital importance to citizens", DPS announced.
"All countries in the world that have responsible leadership are taking prompt measures to mitigate the impact on citizens' standards, which is a consequence of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Our citizens must not be held hostage by politics and the blackmailing of parts of the parliamentary majority. Such a move has no justification, and it which destabilizes the state, directly affects every citizen left to chaos, which directly affects their existence," Damjanović pointed out.
As she added, she believes that Bulajić and all other political subjects realize that the crisis, which is reflected in the record price increase, has become unbearable for many citizens of Montenegro.
"And, everything indicates that - if it continues like this - that trend will be even worse in the coming weeks. For this reason, without any intention of becoming a politician, I invite the current temporary leadership of the Assembly to, in the interest of the entire society, schedule a session with only one point, which will concern the consideration of the situation and possible proposals for measures to overcome it," said Damjanović.
The task of all deputies, she said, is to work primarily in the interest of those who elected them and who pay them.
"And for this reason, I believe that this initiative will be supported by all parliamentary clubs - because, on this issue, there should not, nor should there be, political differences and sidestepping," concluded Damjanović.
