If they don't impose sanctions on Russia, it makes no sense for the government to hold meetings and bully Montenegro, Irna Nišić, director of the Social Democrats (SD), announced today.

"What are the topics on the agenda of the Government session today? It's not difficult to guess - there will be various personnel appointments again, nothing else. Who would care about the introduction of sanctions against Russia, that topic is passe, when we should be innovative and invent another job in to the outgoing Government," Nišić wrote on Twitter.

She added that there is no majority in favor of sanctions, but that is why "experts" are sent to positions as if on tape.

"There is nothing left for us, but for the third Sunday in a row, we warn the Government and insist on the introduction of sanctions due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. If they don't do it today, there is no longer any point in holding meetings and harassing civilized Montenegro. And we have gone too far were witnesses to that," Nišić concluded.

The Vice President of the Government of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, will preside over the Government session today, it was confirmed earlier by Vijesti.

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić will not attend the Government session, because he will participate in the Delphi economic forum.

On the agenda of today's session, there could once again be an item on the introduction of sanctions against Russia, which the Government failed to adopt several times.

The Committee for the Political System of the Government of Montenegro, chaired by Abazović, unanimously adopted on March 15 the package of sanctions against Russia that was previously adopted by the Council of the European Union (EU).

However, that decision was not included in the agenda of the Government session last week, but instead it was proposed to adopt the Draft Decision on the establishment of a Coordination Body to monitor the introduction and application of international measures regarding the crisis in Ukraine, which was not adopted.
