Civic and state-building forces, which overthrew the previous Government, should be a key factor in the minority government and the Parliament, and not anyone's ikebana for the sake of a few official positions, the Social Democrats (SD) say after the session, and in the statement they state that they are "ready to give contribution to reaching the final agreement, but they are not ready to play with the state's interests, just as they are not ready to play the role of hand raisers in the Government and the Assembly, in which the dominant role is played by anti-NATO political structures with debatable political and ideological worldviews."
They say that they are "equally" not ready to "forget about the signed agreement on political and program priorities of practically all the deputies who voted for the dismissal of Leposavic, the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, dismissed the 42nd Government and the Speaker of the Parliament, and on the basis of which they were supposed to and conceived by a minority government."
"As stated, giving capitally important portfolios in the Government to those who did not support a single decision of a clear European and Euro-Atlantic majority in the Parliament would be unacceptable. And it would be especially unacceptable, especially after a failed political experiment, to give those structures the position of president Assembly, which enables access to sensitive security data, i.e. the right to veto decisions of the Council for Defense and Security, while civil parties would be used as a democratic and European cover," the Social Democrats (SD) said in a statement.
At the meeting held, the press release states that "it was established that the Social Democrats had an open and clear position in the discussions regarding the minority government from the beginning, but that the process was unnecessarily prolonged."
"We will certainly not trade in state interests. If someone means by "approximations" or "concessions" that we accept anyone's unfounded demands and conditions, then we have no partners, because that would be irresponsible towards the party, and above all towards the state", they conclude in the announcement.
