Today is April 14, and the saga of the minority government has only continued, Boris Bogdanović, the president of the "Peace is our nation" club of deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro and the general secretary of Democratic Montenegro, announced today.
"Let's remember that the DPS announced on April 7 that "if a minority government is not formed in the next 4-5, then the story about it should be finished and we should focus on quick elections". Today is April 14, and the saga of the minority government has only continued. Has the DPS (Democratic Party of Socialists) definitively given up support for the minority government and moved towards elections, or is it still treading on its word again?", said Bogdanović in a statement submitted by the Democrats.
He added that the deadline that the mandate holder promised for the formation of a minority government has expired.
"Now it is clear that there is nothing from it even until April 15, which was the last deadline by which it was guaranteed that the Government would be formed. Will the mandate holder finally return the mandate and end this agony or circus, as some of his new coalition partners call it, or is he ready to further mistreat the citizens of Montenegro and degrade himself for the sake of a few months of the prime minister's chair?" said Bogdanović.
He said that the SNP (Socialist People's Party) made a decision at the Main Committee and repeated several times that they can have a parliamentary majority with the DPS, but that they cannot at any cost hold executive and legislative functions with the SDP (Social Democratic Party) and SD (Social Democrats). In recent days, we have been hearing that ministerial and vice-presidential positions in the Government have been promised to Mr. Ranko Krivokapić, Raško Konjević... Will the SNP finally stop humiliating itself, or is the hunger for ministerial seats for a few months worthless?" said Bogdanović.
According to him, program clashes between alleged partners are a separate topic.
"The positions of the DPS, SDP, SD are diametrically opposed to the positions of the SNP when we talk about the Open Balkans, the content of the Basic Treaty, the relationship with religious communities, the census, Srebrenica, the Ukrainian crisis, the relationship with May 21, the relationship with Aleksandar Vučić and many other issues. The public wants to hear whether there are mutually agreed positions of the new coalition partners on the Law on Freedom of Religion, the Open Balkans, the content of the Basic Treaty, the census, Srebrenica, Russian aggression , the attitude towards May 21, the attitude towards Euro-Atlantic integration, the attitude towards Montenegrins and Serbs... Either the attitude is that there is no attitude, or that the attitude is only armchairs? Will these issues be found on paper? Will the coalition agreement be signed? Which agreement is at stake? The agreement between DPS and the opposition or the agreement between Ure and the SNP? complete responsibility is taken by those who deceived the citizens of Montenegro," concluded Bogdanović.
