The Democratic Front called for the prosecution of the special prosecutor Saša Čađenović, as well as the former chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić, after media allegations about the ties of the two police officers to organized crime.
They said that they will launch all institutional mechanisms so that the "overthrow of the constitutional order by those who were supposed to protect it" gets a judicial epilogue.
"The Democratic Front reminds the Montenegrin public that the leaders of this alliance spoke publicly and concretely about the connection of former leaders and officials of the security and judicial system with criminal clans who are reasonably suspected of having committed some of the most horrific crimes on European soil. But whenever the DF would again communicated his knowledge and suspicions, precisely those who were obliged to lead the fight against organized criminal groups and clans, were their institutional logistics, and still carried out state terror against the leaders and officials of the DF through multi-year staged court processes that are still going on today Judging by the data of Europol, it seems that the former GST Milivoje Katnić and his deputy Saša Čađenović were the key logistics and protection of the Kavački clan in the prosecution, and it is more than obvious that through the abuse of their official position they stopped any type of investigation that went in the direction of high police officers. officials, among whom the names of Petar Lazović and Ljubo Milović and their connections with Radoj Zvicer, Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković stand out," DF announced.
It almost sounds incredible, as they said, that Čađenović made a decision on January 20 that there were no grounds for criminal prosecution of high-ranking police officials mentioned in the Europol files.
"And it is even more incredible if it is established that Milivoje Katnić had complete files on the connections of high-ranking police officials with the Kavački clan in July of last year, and not only did he not take any of the actions that were available to him as GST, but there is a well-founded suspicion that together with Saša Čađenović, he participated in the concealment of evidence. The decision of the new GST to reopen the case is not sufficient if Milivoje Katnić and Saša Čađenović are not included in that case," the DF added.
In this case, as they said, there is no difference between Vesna Medenica and Milivoj Katnić and Saša Čađenović.
"On the contrary, the basis of suspicion for Katnić and Čađenović is already so certain that it must result in an order for investigation and an indictment. If Saša Čađenović did this under pressure from Milivoj Katnić, there is always the possibility that he will be granted the status of an accomplice witness. Anything else would be a mockery of the CPC and the Criminal Code, and certainly that the DF will not allow this, but will start all institutional mechanisms so that this overthrow of the constitutional order by those who were supposed to protect it will receive a judicial epilogue", conclude from the DF.
