Decisive reforms in the fight against corruption and organized crime are the imperative of this Government, and the first results in that field represent a step towards better and more measurable results in the rule of law.
This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs, Jovana Marović, at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Joost Reitjes.
Marović said that the new government represents a chance for political stability, and that dialogue and close cooperation of all three branches of government are the only way to unblock and speed up accession negotiations.
She informed the interlocutor about the upcoming obligations and plans of the new Government and the relevant Ministry, especially in the context of the reorganization of the negotiation structure and the finalization of the negotiation process.
She pointed out that Montenegro appreciates the previous support of the Netherlands on the way to European integration and conveyed the expectation for additional dynamism of cooperation, especially in the context of obtaining the final benchmarks in chapters 23 and 24.
"The new government brings optimism to the citizens of Montenegro in terms of fulfilling obligations from the European agenda and will have our support in the continuation of the EU accession process," said Reintjes.
He said that the opening of the embassies of Montenegro and the Netherlands is a key step forward in improving cooperation between the transatlantic allies.
