Today, Montenegro is maturing into a respectable country that has allies all over the world, that is respected and recognized for its efforts and values ​​that it firmly inherits, announced Andrija Popović, president of the Liberal Party (LP).

As announced by the LP, he sent heartfelt congratulations to the citizens of Montenegro and the Montenegrin diaspora on the occasion of May 21, Independence Day.

"This date is written in golden letters in the rich history of Montenegro and its glorious victories. For the first time, we achieved a historic victory, all together, with a pencil and in peace, which is a civilizational step that will be remembered by generations. An ancient Balkan state, has become a modern, modern and European society, and that would not have been possible without this date in 2006," Popović pointed out.

He said that after a century of wandering, Montenegro has finally returned as an equal among the free and progressive states of Europe and the world.

"Today, Montenegro and its citizens have reason to celebrate, despite all the challenges, we consolidated democracy, reached high EU standards, became a member of NATO and carried out reforms that were unimaginable. However, there are still many challenges ahead that we can certainly overcome together, believing to our country Montenegro and jointly preserve it as a framework that guarantees us all that. I want to express special respect to the citizens of Montenegro that in turbulent years they were able to choose the fate of this society wisely and to trace a safe path to the future for Montenegro, for her generations. That's why I want you to spend the upcoming national holiday in celebration, remembering the glorious moments of our history that allowed us to celebrate this great day today.
