The deported Bosnian-Herzegovinian refugees from Herceg Novi were victims of the inhumane and immoral procedure of those who extradited them, announced Nihad Canović, a member of the Presidency of the Social Democrats (SD).
"Today I attended the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the deportation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian refugees from Montenegro, and paid tribute to the victims of this crime. The people who sought refuge and salvation in Montenegro from the war-torn area did not find it. They were already victims. , the inhumane and immoral action of the persons who handed them over to the executioner at the altar," Canović pointed out, SD announced.
He added that in May 1992, Montenegro succumbed to civilization.
"The obligation of the State is to adequately sanction criminals for their misdeeds, so that justice is served and the families of the victims are at least slightly relieved of their pain. In May 1992, the Montenegrin police illegally arrested at least 66 refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly Muslims, and handed them over to the Bosnian Serb army in BiH, which liquidated the majority. Only 12 managed to survive in the concentration camps. At least 33 refugees of Serbian nationality were deported for forced mobilization," said Canović.
