Nature was generous to Montenegro and we must carefully preserve that gift, behave responsibly and ecologically in order to preserve our country and its beauties for future generations so that they too can enjoy them, announced Aleksa Bečić, President of Democratic Montenegro.
"On behalf of the Democrats and myself, I congratulate all the citizens of Montenegro on June 5, the International Day of Environmental Protection in the hope that we will justify the status of the first ecological country in the world. The diversity of flora and fauna, relief from sea and beaches to hills and mountains , the wealth of rivers and lakes make Montenegro one of the most beautiful countries in the world. So that the status of an ecological state does not remain just a letter on paper, we must work together and prevent the spread of wild landfills, the devastation of river courses, poaching, illegal logging, increase the number of recycling centers, reduce the emission of harmful gases and turn to greater use of renewable energy sources," Bečić pointed out Twitter.
He added that he is "convinced that in the future we will continue to organize special events in honor of the anniversaries of the declaration of Montenegro as an ecological state, such as the magnificent 30th anniversary in Žabljak".
"Once again, happy International Day of Environmental Protection," said Bečić.
