Former spokesman Nikola Rovčanin was elected president of the Pljeval committee of Democratic Montenegro at the convention.
The convention was attended by 800 delegates, which, they said from Democratic Montenegro, makes it the largest election convention of a political subject in the recent history of Pljevlja.
The Pljeval committee will have 155 members in the future.
"For a little longer than a year, Rovčanin has been acting as the executive director of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, during whose mandate the largest state-owned company achieved the best results since the company's existence, setting numerous records in business, but also distinguished itself in the field of social responsibility by helping many sports , educational and religious organizations", stated in the statement of the Democrats.
In his address to the delegates, Rovčanin said that he was particularly proud of the Pljevlja Heating project.
"In addition to the fact that the financial structure has been secured, all the necessary planning documents have been drawn up, the route of the heating pipes has been determined, and a tender for the execution of the works is expected in the next two weeks", said Rovčanin, noting that "no one can cancel it, nor will they with any move." to change the fact that we did more in one year than all of them did in 30 years".
He said that every citizen has the opportunity to see construction machines and cranes with his own eyes and see how the work on the eco-reconstruction project worth 70 million euros progresses day by day and added that this project will provide more than two hundred new jobs this year. in Pljevlje.
Rovčanin spoke about the implemented projects and commitment to the green transition, which is supported by the fact that in June, the first solar panels will be installed on 114 buildings in Pljevlja and several thousand in Montenegro.
"Speaking of all the implemented projects in Pljevlja, the Otilovići Hydroelectric Power Plant project, which has been brought to the construction stage, and that power plant worth 5 million euros has the potential to supply energy to 80% of the needs of Žabljak. The existing dam has been repaired, lighting and Pljevlja were completed a month ago day received one of its symbols in full glory," he said. Rovčanin also said that a decades-old injustice has been corrected and property returned to the Hadži Hasan mosque, which the previous government had turned into a toll booth. He stated that the Democrats of Pljevlja have so far formed 21 new local committees, the Women's Forum with 70 members and the Youth Forum with 50 members, and today a new Municipal Committee with 155 members.
"A high-quality councilor club was formed, which worked to solve numerous problems in the Municipal Assembly with its active attitude. And there were plenty of problems considering the three-decade rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists. For example, last year the municipal budget was twenty million, and only 3,6 million or only 17 percent of the realized budget was spent on the capital budget. To make the situation even worse, the local government failed to spend all the funds and transferred 5,2 million euros to the following year. Such a situation existed in the past, the year before and in previous years, which they try to justify with some objective circumstances, which is not true. Simply put, even though they have money, they don't know how to spend it wisely regardless of the problems we have. It is a matter of laziness and lack of expertise to do better and better work. And that it is possible to do the opposite, the Democrats showed by announcing the ecological reconstruction of the thermal power plant and the heating of the city. What has not been done for 30 years, we have shown that it is possible to do it quickly and efficiently", said Tešović.
