Bearing in mind that for more than a month we have had a problem created by the change in salary calculation, I initiated a meeting in order to find a solution that will be proposed to the Government next Thursday, said Deputy Prime Minister for Political System and Internal Policy Raško Konjević.
As reported by his cabinet, Konjević agreed with the representatives of the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Police Directorate and the Trade Union of the Police Directorate, activities that would solve the problem of reducing the wages of police officers and improve their financial status in the long term.
"The solution should be sought in the signing of the branch collective agreement, which would have a two-stage application - one part would be applied immediately and in that way the issue of salary calculation would be resolved. There is no reason for it not to enter into force immediately, because in the MUP budget and there are funds, so there is no negative fiscal effect," Konjević said
As the vice president explained, the second segment of the collective agreement, which would improve the financial position of members of the UP and MUP, would most likely apply from January 01.01.2023, XNUMX. years.
"It was also agreed that the MUP, in cooperation with the Cabinet of the Vice-President of the Government for Political System and Internal Policy, will prepare information for next Thursday, where the Government would approve the text of the collective agreement through its two-stage implementation, and thus the Ministry of Finance would receive the necessary political consent to sign that Collective Agreement and therefore overcomes the problem," Konjević said.
As stated in the announcement, he added that a third conclusion was also agreed at the meeting, namely that the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance in the following period, during the creation of the budget for 2023, work on changes to the Regulation on job groups and salary coefficients police officers so that from the fiscal year 2023 there would be an increase in the salaries of employees in the Police Directorate.
"The last salary increase for police officers was six years ago, and in the meantime the salary was increased twice for employees in education and health, and a 10 percent increase was announced for employees in the army," said the vice president.
"We will hold the next meeting on Monday, when we should finalize the material for the Government, which should be adopted next Thursday, and I believe that this proposal, apart from the UP management, will also be understood by the union representatives, because it seems to me that we are making the first step that should mean an improvement in the financial situation of people working in the Police Directorate," said Konjević.
"The representatives of the Police Administration Trade Union agree that they are on the way to finding a solution, and they thanked Vice President Konjević and the representatives of the MUP and UP for their commitment to solving this problem," concludes the press release of the Vice President's office.
