The non-governmental organization (NGO) Legalizuj.me and the Liberal Party have agreed that the representative of that party, Andrija Popović, will present a proposal for changes to the law in the Parliament regarding the decriminalization, regulation of the market and the medical use of cannabis.
The NGO announced that the agreement with the Liberal Party, as the first political actor to raise the issue of legalizing cannabis for medical purposes in 2014, was made official at a meeting in Podgorica.
"The agreed agreement implies that a member of the Liberal Party in the Assembly will present a proposal for changes to the law concerning decriminalization, market regulation and the medical use of cannabis," the statement says.
They pointed out that, as a progressive and liberal political option, they consider the Liberal Party to be the legitimate representatives of their vision of a liberal, progressive and modern Montenegro in the Parliament.
"Through this, we want to thank the liberals and Liberal Party MP Andrija Popović for the trust and willingness to join us in the joint struggle for the liberalization of society," the statement added.
