Any appointment from the ranks of the DPS (Democratic Party of Socialists) for certain political circles has become a red scarf, Nataša Pešić, adviser to the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović for cooperation with state bodies, announced today.
"Untruths about my apartment are so tendentiously and maliciously spread, and the reason is my appointment to the Government Commission for Housing Issues. I got the apartment I own in 2012 in a legal and transparent procedure, performing the function of the secretary of the Ministry of Justice. That is the only truth. Everything the second is hoaxes for political reasons. Those who think they are the moral barometer of society, and that they have the right to accuse and judge everyone, will have the opportunity to offer evidence for their claims before the competent prosecutor," said Pešić in a statement provided by the Service for informing the President of Montenegro.
The news announced two days ago that representatives of the Cabinet of the President of Montenegro and the Assembly were appointed as members of the Government Commission for Housing Issues.
The representative of the Cabinet of the President of Montenegro is Nataša Pešić, former general secretary in the former government of Duško Marković and member of the Main Board of the DPS.
Pešić previously received an apartment from the state on favorable terms, based on the decision of the Commission for Housing Issues. Now Pešić needs to review the work of the previous commissions, which, as announced by the Government, is the task of the new composition of the Commission.
Her membership in the Commission is not legally disputed, because the members are appointed by the Government, namely the president and four members at the proposal of the Prime Minister, and one member each at the proposal of the Assembly and the head of state.
Vuk Maraš from the Media Association of Southeast Europe (MAJE) previously told Vijesti Television that "the very cynicism of the Government to appoint Ms. Pešić to that Commission to 'check' the Commission's illegalities, where she herself got the apartment, shows how disingenuous everything we hear from the Government is , including the story of European integration".
Tamara Vujović, Member of Parliament for Democratic Montenegro, said yesterday that Montenegro did not have the opportunity to develop new social services and address the high poverty rate due to the practice of the reverse principle of Robin Hood - give to the rich and take from the poor.
"We hoped that time had passed after the historic victory on August 30. Now we see that the DPS reason is being established again, so you have the paradox that Nataša Pešić (winner of an apartment under favorable conditions) can question the abuses of Nataša Pešić (winner of an apartment under favorable conditions )", Vujović said.
