President Milo Đukanović awarded the captains of the Regent of San Marino Oskar Mina and Paolo Rondeli with the Order of the Montenegrin Great Star, which is awarded for special merits in preserving and improving friendship and interstate cooperation between Montenegro and other countries.
Đukanović said that it was a great pleasure for him to present Mina and Rondeli with this high state award.
"I have already told you that after the restoration of independence we worked very hard on the development of interstate cooperation, of course the numerous captains regents who led San Marino in the previous period and who were actors in the development of interstate cooperation contributed to this. Today I am very pleased to present this recognition to you, I pay respect to San Marino, to all the captains regents who contributed to this cooperation and to you personally," said Đukanović, as announced by the president's office.
Đukanović welcomed Mina and Rondelija, who are on a two-day official visit to Montenegro, today in Cetinje with the highest state honors.
After the welcome ceremony, signing in the guest book, the presidents had head-to-head a conversation followed by a meeting of the delegations of the two countries.
In March of this year, Mina and Rondeli honored Đukanović with the Order of the Knight of the Grand Cross.
The Captains Regents of San Marino is the collective branch of the Head of State and Head of Government of San Marino. Two regent captains are always elected for a period of six months each and usually belong to opposite parties.
