Đurović on Friday with the presidents of the parliamentary parties on overcoming the impasse in the judiciary

The meeting of the presidents of the parties, which have deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro, on the topic of overcoming the impasse in the judiciary should start tomorrow (Friday, July 8) at nine o'clock in the Parliament of Montenegro.

The President of the Assembly Danijela Đurović (SNP) invited the presidents of the parties to a meeting in order to solve the problem of the impossibility of electing the Supreme State Prosecutor, judges of the Constitutional Court and part of the members of the Judicial Council.

In the invitation to the leaders, it is reminded that for years there has been an acting situation in several key institutions and that this mandates the obligation of a "responsible approach to solving these problems by the parties".

She recalled that since taking office her priority has been the initiation of parliamentary dialogue and the resolution of issues, as she stated, necessary for the EU accession process.

Đurović added that among the priority issues are the election of judges of the Constitutional Court, the appointment of SS members, the election of the VDT, the reform of the electoral legislation...

"Montenegro needs a dialogue independent of the majority established by positive regulations," Đurović stated in her calls to the parties.

Milačić is not coming: Political waiting

President of Prava Montenegro and Member of Parliament Marko Milačić announced that he will not attend the meeting and that he is ready to possibly join one of the next meetings when the functionality of the planned format of talks at the level of party leaders is checked, "certainly with the disputing of Milo Đukanović's participation in that decision-making level".

"True Montenegro indicates that it would be much more expedient if you previously conducted a round of face-to-face talks, and only then consider the format of the collective meeting, given that it currently includes the president of DPS, Milo Đukanović, who formed a system of corruption and illegal influence on the judiciary, no less than Vesna Medenica. The participation of Milo Đukanović in some form of agreement on reforms in the judiciary will bring to Montenegro the same institutional crisis, which it got by exposing the corruption of Vesna Medenica and her associates," Milačić's announcement states, adding that such the call would not represent a political breakthrough but "a political wait for those who remained loyal to the August 30 victory."

Danilović: I'm not going to the meeting, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed

The President of the United Montenegro, Goran Danilović, announced that he would not go to the meeting with Đurović.

"I received an invitation from President Đurović to attend a meeting of leaders of parliamentary parties tomorrow in the Assembly, where we would focus on priority issues: the election of judges of the Constitutional Court, the appointment of members of the SS, the election of the VDT, the reform of the electoral legislation. I informed the Assembly today that I am grateful for the invitation, but I will not talk about these topics. The reasons are as follows: The United Montenegro is not to blame for any of these problems, nor do I have any personal guilt. The new, minority government was elected with the intention of solving these problems. More precisely, the former government was overthrown under the pretext that we need a majority of 49 that will unblock the euro processes," Danilović pointed out.

He added that in this sense they will not come to the aid of those who recently ignored their every request and request.

"The one who promised parliamentary votes to compensate for the lack of the three social democratic votes should attach them to the agreed place. We are not traders, so we will not drag out judges and prosecutors like shorks. If councilors' mandates were unconstitutionally and illegally extended and local elections postponed, let the same political masters extend their mandates and judges of the Constitutional Court? Let candidates be elected to the Judicial Council and VDT under the pretext of speeding up and intensifying European integration and the fight against Putin! We feel sorry for some honorable people from the profession, but they also know what it is about. In Montenegro, there are still too many institutions, which in the end don't ask anything. After all, only one thing is important: to save this government, that is, to repel Rashkov, Rankov and Draginjin in a timely manner - a Templar attack on the same, and that from the inside, with the support of the Komitas from the outside. So I'm not going to the meeting, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed," said Danilović.
