The Presidency of the Liberal Party (LP) authorizes the President and MP Andrija Popović to deny support to the minority 43rd Government of Montenegro in the parliamentary procedure in the Assembly of Montenegro, the LP announced.
In the LP statement, it is stated that it is hers Presidency unanimously supported the initiation of the no-confidence decision-making procedure for the minority 43rd Government of Montenegro.
"The Presidency of the Liberal Party (LP) previously made a decision that the deputy and president of the Liberals in the Assembly Andija Popović supports the election of the minority 43rd Government, without the participation of Liberals in it, taking into account Montenegrin national interests, the economy, overall stability and the unblocking of European integrations all of which should have been a priority of the Government," the LP statement said.
However, as the Liberal Party states, after only seventy days of her election, "there was a gross violation of these principles of the Agreement by the Prime Minister".
"By supporting the bizarre, undoubtedly unconstitutional and illegal text of the contract with the SPC while ignoring the demands of all factors - the majority of parties in the parliamentary majority, the professional public, the civil sector, the international community - the conditions were created for the initiation of a parliamentary procedure of no confidence in the Government," the announcement reads.
The announcement concludes that the fundamental principles of cooperation within the framework of the signed Agreement, the normative priorities for fulfilling the obligations for EU membership, as well as the political priorities for the executive power, have been violated.
