According to the vice-president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Jevto Eraković, the events in Nikšić on July 13 showed the connection of part of the state and "paramilitary church organizations whose ideology, activities and method of financing are reminiscent of the wartime '90s".
"The institutions must make a list of these organizations and they must reach out to those who finance them. Instead of fighting extremism, part of the government has been flirting with these groups for a long time out of fear or interest. We warn both the domestic and international public that the threat to Montenegro and the region is real, because those groups are generously financed, ready to cause instability in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina", said Eraković at the DPS conference in Nikšić.
As he pointed out, part of the government and their media infrastructure want to create a false narrative about the extremist balance that does not exist, and their purpose is to make it an alibi for part of the government.
"All extremists should be treated equally by the state, and there must be a clear red line. Montenegro now has a problem with only one, para-religious extremism. We invite partners from both sides of the Atlantic to notice the problem. The events on Statehood Day are staged and represent a test a balloon for some future events", said Eraković and showed a video showing that the police missed a group of, as he said, provocateurs, as the Minister of Internal Affairs, Filip Adžić, called them.
The vice president of DPS said that their legal team analyzed the events and pointed out the police's failings, as well as that citizens have already started filing complaints about the actions of police officers.
The president of the DPS Nikšić board, Zoran Vukićević, said that the mayor of the municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, first announced the celebration of the St. Peter's Day fair in order to prevent the celebration organized by the Forum of Free Citizens "Luča". "When the idea of organizing a fair, as he said, was not approved by him, he scheduled a celebration on July 13, a holiday that he did not even mention last year."
"His intention was clear to thwart the holding of the meeting organized by 'Luče', and his intention was even clearer when he accused some people without names and surnames of threatening the respected artist to give up the performance. Kovačević dared to slander the citizens and thus raise tensions, trying to rounded up hooligan groups in order to celebrate this holiday with the flags of other countries. Kovačević hired those he hired for all his dirty tricks and then rewarded them with jobs," Vukićević said.
He said that the epithet of the civic capital must be returned to Nikšić, that people like Kovačević and Peković (head of CB Nikšić) and "their contractors" are disrupting peace and quality coexistence in the city, and called on Nikšić's Democrats and URU to cancel their support for the President of the Municipality.
"To clearly disassociate themselves from these actions and cancel their support for the local cowboys and thus demonstrate in action that what they are communicating publicly and secretly is true. Otherwise, they bear part of the responsibility for everything that happens in the city," Vukićević said.
He told Kovačević that neither he nor anyone from his party has anything against the Serbs, who are their brothers and friends, but that they have against the Greater Serbs, and that he, by his example and his Serb friends who helped him in the most difficult moments, can to testify. After all, as he said, his Montenegrin-Serbian marriage is an example of coexistence and good functioning. He showed photos of the participants of the celebration, as the extremist said ironically, including members of his family, as well as photos of injured citizens after the intervention of the police.
DPS member of parliament, Aleksandra Vuković, said that on July 13, instead of stopping the "scary procession cheering for Putin's Russia, they bowed their heads and allowed it to reach the citizens who were celebrating the big holiday."
"Thank you, professionals. We have seen everything. Their work could not be hidden even by the media, which indulged in equating Serbian and Montenegrin nationalism. It is a futile slander, we all see their intentions," said Vuković.
According to her, the Government has no support because it has subordinated the European dream of Montenegro to the dream of the "Serbian world" and has shown that "it does not care for the interests of the state, but for the interests of the Church of Serbia".
"There is no support even because of what happened in Nikšić, when a clear message was sent that tear gas is always ready for Montenegrins and that the belvedere practice will be applied to them," said Vuković.
According to her, they are negotiating with all political actors in the Parliament regarding trust in the Government because they do not want to stop the European path of Montenegro regardless of the "irresponsible behavior of the Government and the Prime Minister".
"We are conducting a dialogue to resolve the issue of blockage in the judiciary, and we can resolve this only in the Parliament of Montenegro if we have a two-thirds majority," Vuković said.
According to her, it is not a question of whether the motion of no confidence will be submitted to the Government today or in two days, but it is important that the motion has its own purpose.
"And the purpose is to stop this government and anyone who intends to stop Montenegro on its European path," Vuković said, adding that she would inform the public in time about the nature of the initiative she would submit.
