The President of the Assembly of Montenegro Danijela Đurović sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of August 5, Gusinje Municipality Day, to the President of the Municipality Anela Čekić, the President of the Municipal Assembly Bujar Hasangjekaj, councilors and all the citizens of this city.
"On behalf of the Parliament of Montenegro and in my own name, I heartily congratulate August 5, the Day of the Municipality of Gusinje, one of the most important dates in the history of this region, when the Fifth Proletarian Brigade liberated the city from the occupiers. Considering that as a country we strongly advocate for an even regional development, in the coming period, special attention should be paid to the improvement of living and economic conditions in smaller municipalities, such as Gusinje," said Đurović.
The return of the status of the municipality in 2014, as the President of the Assembly added, opened up new opportunities for the development of this area, and I am convinced that they will be effectively used, for the benefit of all citizens.
"Recognizing the significant contribution of numerous emigrants originating from Gusinje, I nevertheless express the hope that the emigration of young people from the north of Montenegro will decrease in the coming period. Bearing in mind that migrations are most often motivated by economic reasons, synchronized and decisive action by all competent entities is necessary, in order to create new opportunities for employment of citizens and improvement of their standard of living", Đurović concluded.
