The Budva committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) called on Prime Minister Dritan Abazović to respond to, as they said, increasingly frequent rumors that the recent president of the Municipality of Budva, Marko Carević, resigned from that position in agreement with him, and that he allegedly guaranteed him protection from criminal charges. - legal responsibilities "due to numerous abuses".
The Budva DPS announced that the members of the Board of Commissioners, the body that performs the duties of the local parliament until the election, will have to be held criminally responsible for, as they claim, abuse of official position, because they "enabled the Democratic Front official Milo Božović to occupy the chair" of the Municipal President. .
"The joint action of the Government, which appointed the members of the Board of Commissioners by order of the DF and the URA, as we warned before, had only one goal - to enable Milo Božović to lead the election campaign in full capacity from the position of the first man of the city DF in anticipation of the local elections, in order to increase the chances of the DF and URA forming a ruling coalition in the post-election combinatorics, that is, of Andrija Mandić returning the favor to Dritan Abazović."
"In addition to the fact that the headquarters of the URA and the DF agreed on the position of the municipal president for the holder of the DF list in the upcoming elections, Milo Božović, and for that purpose misused the board of commissioners, the Prime Minister of Montenegro should respond to the increasingly frequent rumors that "The compromised former president of the Municipality of Budva, Marko Carević, resigned from his position, precisely in agreement with Abazović, who allegedly guaranteed him protection from criminal legal liability due to numerous abuses," the DPS announced.
The citizens of Budva, the party added, have a chance in the upcoming local elections to punish the government and its protagonists who, "with numerous inactions and violations of the law", have "threw the reputation of that municipality under their feet" and turned the former metropolis of Montenegrin tourism into a destination to be avoided. .
"Therefore, we once again call on the Special State Prosecutor's Office to urgently review the entire case, from the initial appointment of Božović as vice-president of the Municipality of Budva, through Tsarević's resignation, until today's assumption of the position of President of the Municipality of Budva by Milo Božović", conclude the Budva DPS .
