Only a stable state with strong judicial institutions guarantees a path to a better tomorrow, said the Ministry of Justice.
"We remind you of the immeasurable importance that the election of the members of the Judicial Council has for our society and the need to create a system based on the rule of law. This issue must overcome all our divisions," the Ministry of Justice tweeted.
Today, the Parliament should vote on four proposed candidates for members of the Judicial Council from the ranks of distinguished lawyers.
The Committee for Political System, Judiciary and Administration proposed that Nebojsa Vucinič, Radoje Korac, Dragan Šoć and Fikret Kurgaš be elected to these positions.
Two-thirds or three-fifths support of the deputies is required for their election.
