The Liberal Party (LP) announced that for almost two years of the "escalation of the political crisis" it is advocating for the formation of a technical government whose task would be to prepare extraordinary parliamentary elections within a few months.
In the announcement, they say that "the hard way" proved that it was the best solution, adding that Montenegro "wasted a lot of time in vain".
"After two unsuccessful governments, the expert-apostolic one and this minority one, which have afflicted Montenegro, there is no other solution left to get out of the political crisis that has been going on for too long. Liberals, as a responsible, civil party that puts the interests of the state and society first, constructively tried to influence such processes. We believed that the minority government, after the apostolic government which was the worst in the modern history of the country, would still continue on the European path, but it quickly turned out that such promises were just demagoguery, so we are proud that we were the initiators and replacements of this Government, which fell yesterday, in the best interest of Montenegro," the LP statement reads.
They add that in the coming period they expect the responsibility of all political subjects, especially bearing in mind, as they say, "the difficult situation in which Montenegro is".
"...The economic, financial and overall crisis, especially in the context of the global crisis and the dangerous impact it can have on Montenegro. Liberals, as before, will be a constructive force in efforts to return Montenegro to the European and democratic path which is the only guarantee of the quality of life of its citizens," concludes the statement of the Liberal Party.
