Representatives of the parties of the former parliamentary majority will continue talks today on solving the political crisis, in which they will try to reach a compromise on the election of a new government and a new parliamentary leadership, "Vijesti" has learned.

The meeting will be the third in the last eight days, and it was initiated, like the previous ones, by the president of the New Serbian Democracy and one of the leaders of the Democratic Front (DF), Andrija Mandic.

At the first meeting, held on September 2 in the Assembly, the representatives of the "old majority" signed an agreement on the proposal of the DF, which provided for the election of a new executive power and parliamentary administration.

At the second meeting, which took place on September 6, also in the Assembly, it was agreed that by the end of the week, the parties would agree on proposals for the mandate for the composition of the government and the head of the legislative chamber.

Head of the Movement for Changes parliamentary group (PzP) Branko Radulović, told "Vijesti" that he advocates that the parties first define the program of the future government and its organization, and then discuss personnel issues.

"I suggest that secret files be opened, that lustration be carried out, that a special court be formed to fight crime, that the clause on the replacement of positions be introduced... It is also necessary to change election laws, reform finances, and create good projects for the development of the economy. .. The effects of such a government would be sustainable, and thus the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) would fall to 10 percent of voter support. We will see if there will be determination for such a thing", he stated.

Radulović says that the mandate should be agreed upon in a democratic way, and that therefore he should come from the largest constituent of the former majority (coalition "For the Future of Montenegro, of which the DF was a part).

"This should be a government of national salvation. I am also ready to participate in such a reform government, to take responsibility for a position that is adequate to my knowledge", he pointed out.

Mandić announced the night before yesterday that he expects the former majority to reach a compromise in principle by the weekend.

"We have an obligation, the citizens expect a new government and a new parliamentary leadership. We have set a very difficult task. Until everything is agreed, nothing is agreed," he said, stating that he would be honored to be the new prime minister.

Although it is a question of the political fate of the President of the Assembly Danijela Đurović caused conflicts between part of the "old majority" parties, which, as "Vijesti" wrote, is no longer an obstacle in negotiations. As the interlocutors explained, all MPs of the old majority, if a compromise on the new government is reached, will sign the proposal with the name of the candidate for the head of the parliament.

The Socialist People's Party (SNP) and the Citizens' Movement (GP) URA have repeatedly said that Đurović (SNP) should not be dismissed, while the Democrats do not give up on that demand, stressing that this is the only way to reset relations between the parties that are won the 2020 elections.

While the negotiations of the "old majority" continue, the expectations of the diplomats of Western countries are also being discussed, who, as "Vijesti" announced yesterday, hope that the government will be formed by "pro-European parties". In this respect, as stated by the newspaper's sources, they have high expectations from the Democrats.

The day before yesterday, the ambassadors spoke in parliament with representatives of the DPS, Social Democrats, Social Democratic Party and Liberal Party, as well as minority parties.

Democrats did not answer "Vijesta" whether the diplomats suggested to them to form a government with those parties. Also, they did not answer whether they expect an agreement from the "old majority" and whether it would be acceptable for them to have some members of the previous two in the new government.

The leader of the Democrats Aleksa Becic, announced the night before last that "in favor of the state and people of Montenegro" he renounces the position of Prime Minister and President of the Assembly, saying that "the will of the people is above any position and anyone's chair".

President of the United Montenegro Goran Danilović he welcomed Bečić's decision, saying that the leader of the Democrats would be a serious candidate for the mandate, with a good chance of being supported and accepted.

"However, we also understand the need to help negotiate and to act non-partisan at this crucial moment," he added.

The President of the State, Milo Đukanović (DPS), according to the constitutional deadlines that have been running since the recent overthrow of the Government Dritan Abazović in the parliament, he has until September 19 to propose a representative.

In the agreement that was signed on September 2, it is written, among other things, that the principles of cooperation of the "old majority" are based on respecting the electoral will of the citizens expressed in the elections, and the goals remain the fight against corruption and organized crime and preventing any return of the DPS to power.

The new government, as written in the document, would remain committed to European integration, regional cooperation, as well as respect for all internationally assumed obligations of the state.

Đeljošaj: Abazović to be the mandate holder

The president of the Albanian Alternative, Nik Đeljošaj, announced yesterday that he expects Abazović to be the mandate holder for the composition of the new government. "This fact would make it easier for the minorities to decide to negotiate, but also to be part of the 44th government, if the public invitations to participate in the new government were sincere towards the minorities".

He stated that it was expected that those who, as he said, "without consultation, hastily and without analysis of 'what tomorrow'", toppled Abazović's government, had a plan B.

"I warned in those days that it was a hasty decision, more harmful to our events in the long term than the decisions made by the 43rd Government in 100 days. And the situation in our country clearly shows that this was not the reason for the overthrow of this Government".

Đeljošaj says that Abazović formed "the most inclusive government ever in Montenegro". "Minority parties were equal partners in that government, and represented more than ever before. We are carefully following the discussions regarding the formation of a new government".
