Democrats: The Prime Minister and the President of the Assembly cannot come from smaller entities that made an Agreement with DPS

During today's meeting of representatives of the parliamentary majority on August 30, 2020, at which solutions for the election of a new government and the leadership of the parliament should be agreed upon, Democratic Montenegro, according to the knowledge of Television News, formulated the following positions in the negotiations:

1. We who unconditionally supported the 42nd Government even though we didn't have a single member of it, who remained committed to August 30 all the time, renounced the positions of the Prime Minister and the Assembly even though they belong to us as the individually strongest party and the winning list whose holder he was the only one who was not a mandate holder.

2. We proposed that due to the difficult legacy of mutual relations and avoiding absolute favoritism to anyone, we should agree on two women from their ranks, not ours, who would be the bridge of cooperation and who would lead this technical Government, that is, the Assembly.

3. Of course, it goes without saying that, bearing in mind the democratic principles and the signed Agreement from last week, the future Prime Minister and President of the Assembly cannot come from the smaller entities that made the Sporauzm with DPS and Milo Đukanović.

Leaders of the parties of the former parliamentary majority continued talks today about solving the political crisis.

The meeting, during which parliamentarians will try to reach a compromise on the election of a new government and a new parliamentary leadership, began after 13 pm in one of the hotels in Podgorica.

It is expected that the meeting participants will address the media after the meeting.

In the 43rd Government, which was elected on April 28 with the support of DPS, and which was voted no-confidence on August 20, there are representatives of the "Black on White" coalition, which consists of the Citizens' Movement URA and the Citizens' Alliance CIVIS, the Socialist People's Party (SNP), the Social Democratic Party ( SDP), the Bosniak Party (BS), the Albanian List, the coalition Jednoglasno and the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI).

That Government headed by Dritan Abazović (URA) is currently in a technical mandate.
