The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced that the criminal charges against the vice president of that party, Sanja Damjanović, were dismissed.
The then Government, led by Zdravko Krivokapić, in June 2021 filed a criminal complaint against the former Minister of Science Sanja Damjanović, the former secretary Smiljana Prelević and an unknown person employed in that department, due to the suspicion that they allegedly damaged the state budget for several thousand euros during the organization of the two-day meeting of the International Institute for Sustainable Technologies of Southeast Europe (SEEIIST).
"A year and a half since the 42nd Government launched the political persecution of the world-renowned scientist and our vice president Dr. Sanja Damjanović, just because she ran in the Nikšić elections, the shameful criminal complaint against her was officially dismissed.
"The then Minister Vesna Bratić and State Secretary Kadović in their revanchist trance thought that everything was allowed to them, including the abuse of legal instruments and the attempt to personally discredit the CERN scientist and the German GSI.
"This shameful, as well as hundreds of other political persecutions of scientists and teachers throughout Montenegro, carried out by the ministry of Vesna Bratić, ended before the face of justice in the only way possible. We are convinced that the time of responsibility will soon come, and that justice will knock and at the door of Vesna Bratić and all those whose revanchism in every respect cost Montenegro dearly", the DPS announced.
