The Vice-President of the URA Civic Movement, Filip Adžić, announced today that the President of the Montenegrin Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, Miodrag Vlahović, tried to prevent the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, and "Vijesti" from receiving the invitation and award of the Transatlantic Leadership Network (TLN).
"The futile attempts of Miodrag Vlahović, who wandered into diplomacy from a furniture store by sheer chance, to re-engage Montenegro ended, as usual, in his own embarrassment and fiasco, Adžić pointed out in a statement.
He added that Abazović was welcomed as an honored guest at the ceremony, and that Montenegrin media workers received a prestigious award that speaks of media freedom in Montenegro.
"This famous 'locksmith' from the Vatican, who for the sake of another diplomatic salary locked himself and barricaded himself in the office, with frantic efforts sent dozens of emails to the organizers of TLN, in an attempt to prevent Prime Minister Abazović and the representatives of 'Vijesti' from receiving the invitation and award of this prestigious institute. However, all he achieved was to make the host wonder about the medical condition of the 'time out' minister. Unfortunately, outnumbered by political self-proclaimed and marginals like Vlahović, Prime Minister Abazović was welcomed as an honored guest at the ceremony, and Montenegrin media workers received a prestigious award that speaks about the freedom of the media in Montenegro. No one can stop a new and healthy Montenegro, and we recommend a long rest and relaxation to forgotten characters like Vlahović with a book like 'The Gambler' by Dostoevsky - it suits them," Adžić said in a statement .
