Action for Human Rights (HRA) announced that it is disappointing that the members of the Parliament of Montenegro decided to elect only one instead of the proposed four members of the Judicial Council this evening.
With this, as they state, they postponed the necessary reform of that body.
"What reason did the MPs have to elect only Korać and not Vučinić, a former judge of the European Court of Human Rights, or lawyer and former minister Šoć or lawyer Kurgaš? How did the existing members of the Judicial Council from the ranks of distinguished lawyers deserve to continue , after a full eight years, remain in the same positions - perhaps by electing Medenica to an unconstitutional 3rd term? Perhaps by electing eight presidents of courts for more than two terms, some even for the sixth and eighth terms Or by falsifying interview grades?", Akcia wrote. for human rights on Facebook.
They add that they expect answers from those who did not vote for these candidates.
