The general impression, and it is not seen only by those who will not see it, is that the period of the most intense development in the history of Podgorica is behind us. Our city has never been more beautiful, neater, greener and more European, Podgorica Mayor Ivan Vuković announced last night.
He said this on the representative list of the movement "All for our CITY - Dr. Ivan Vuković" for the local elections in Podgorica on October 23, which is led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
Vuković is at the head of the list.
In the announcement of the Movement "All for our CITY - Dr. Ivan Vuković" it was announced that Vuković, while addressing the citizens, "recalled his address four years ago, when he spoke about the future of Podgorica and the desire to make it a more beautiful, dynamic, Mediterranean and European city for all its citizens".
"Tonight, after four great years at the head of the city, I am telling you about what I know. I know that, if it stays on this path, the best years for Podgorica are yet to come and that, in due time, our city can become the most beautiful place to live in this part of Europe. I know, because we have achieved the almost impossible in the most difficult time that this generation can remember. I know, because we have earned the trust of people who, regardless of political and other differences, value dedicated work and honest relations. I know, because, based on experience, we and trust, formed a movement that brought together the best that this city has," Vuković pointed out
He added that it was difficult.
"In the time of the corona, it was necessary to save people, help those who needed help and, at the same time, make everything in the city work in the best order. It was extremely difficult. And it's nice, dear friends, and I'm proud when, after four year of the mandate, I visit different parts of Podgorica with my colleagues, without anyone looking at us, let alone saying something ugly. On the contrary. At every step, we encounter gratitude and support and the desire to continue developing our Podgorica together. And, precisely guided by that desire , we formed the movement "All for our CITY"!" said Vuković.
According to him, the movement "All for our CITY" gathers people of different religions and nations and different generations, different political beliefs and those who are absolutely not interested in politics.
"However, all these people think progressively - civil and European. And they all love the city they live in and want to contribute to its future development. For that to be possible, Podgorica must stay on the right path. And that means stability and security for everyone our fellow citizens, it means the continuation of intensive development and further economic progress of our city, it means taking care of people of the older generation and even better conditions for the development of our youngest, it means solidarity with those who have less than they need," Vuković said.
Izedina Adžović Škrijelj, media worker and activist of the civil sector, said that this is a team that fights for the continuation of the development of Podgorica, in which everyone is united, regardless of religion, nation and political affiliation.
Civic activist Saša Mijović pointed out that he gladly accepted to be part of the winning team.
"In front of you are successful people, who are accomplished in their professions. These accomplished people are part of the Movement that promises you that, among other things, we will deal with the following topics - children, youth and families," said Mijović.
The candidate for councilor, Mensur Šalaj, said that there are many who see mistakes in everything and criticize everything, and very few who correct mistakes and bring quality solutions to problems in society.
Jovana Drobnjak, a candidate for councilor, said that what she wants for her children, I also want for yours.
"Podgorica, which will provide everything that any large European city would provide. I feel that it is my duty and responsibility to help in this," said Drobnjak.
The announcement states that Aleksandar Saša Zeković, a long-time fighter for respect for human rights, pointed out that the vision of everyone in the movement is to continue building Podgorica into a modern and European city.
"Tonight, we present the new humanitarian and development paradigm, "Podgorica, the city of human rights"! We resolutely say that Podgorica, with the inclusion and acceptance of everyone, will be a place of equality. The focus, the center, of all public policies of Podgorica will be the citizen and his rights," said Zeković .
Actress Žaklina Ošir said that she is proud of what Podgorica has turned into in the last few years.
"Clean, washed, full of parks and greenery. Let's not stop the development of Podgorica, because we are leaving it to the generations that are growing up and the generations yet to come. We are thinking of our children," said Oštir.
Entrepreneur and former professional football player Edin Tuzović invited everyone to join the "All for our CITY" movement.
"For old Podgorica, for Titograd, for new Podgorica," he pointed out.
Branislav Milačić, coach of several Montenegrin football clubs, also addressed the audience.
"I am here because I love Montenegro and Podgorica without bounds, I am here because I know that I am in the company of those who experience my Podgorica the same as I do. I am here because of Ivan Vuković and his team who brilliantly led this city in the previous period and united all the people in it," Milacic said.
Candidate for councilor Budimir Mugoša said that "it is up to us to do everything so that this city continues to walk the European path".
"The choice is easy, are we going to look to the future or to the past. Are we going to decide about our city, or someone else," said Mugoša.
