Novska lista: Two Mayans raised their hands in shame, Porobić handed over the executioner's axe

The newly adopted Spatial Planning Law, as the most important topic of the past months, is at least shameful, and at worst tycoon and criminal, Novska lista reported today.

The Law on Spatial Planning and Building Construction was adopted yesterday by a narrow majority in the Parliament of Montenegro.

"In addition to all the shortcomings that you are familiar with in detail, in addition to vagueness and ambiguity, this law continues to severely degrade municipalities, reduces them to smaller local communities, carries out heavy centralization, and moves everything to Podgorica. The strategy for the development of local communities has been completely neglected and its development and plans are decided by the Assembly and the Government of Montenegro," the Novska Lista press release states.

From that party, they added that the area will be managed from Podgorica, as well as that companies will be shut down and offices will be abolished.

"The profession expressed a clear position against the disputed law, but that did not prevent the legislators from pursuing their own and tycoon interests. Unfortunately, we are witnessing, at the very least, contradictory statements, especially by deputies from municipalities close to us, who forget where they are from and who deliberately and knowingly destroy space instead of to preserve it for posterity. Once again the two Mayans obediently nodded their heads to the instructions received from the villa under Gorica, shamefully raising their hand against their city and their fellow citizens. Once again, MP Porobić, in his manner, resigned at the last second, deciding to leave the executioner's ax to another deputy after bringing the matter to a fait accompli, as he did in the dismissal of his godfather from the position of mayor in Herceg Novi," Novska Lista said.

From that party, they point out that Herceg Novi has always, even that time, known to punish political cowardice in elections, and to place political mercenaries exactly where they belong, in the opposition benches.

"We hope that this time our example and our message will finally reach the ears of people throughout Montenegro, and that the public's response to this shameful law will be just as strong and just as strict.
