Ivan Vuković, the leader of the list of the movement "All for our city" and the mayor of Podgorica, said that the capital has developed intensively in the past period, although everything around it has stagnated, saying that withbut with responsible work and household relations, it was possible to increase the budget of Podgorica from 60 to 106 million euros.
"Only one fact speaks in support of that, which is that the capital spent half a million euros less on salaries last year, and we are talking about the pre-election year," said Vuković at tonight's mini-convention in the hall of the local community of Donja Gorica, where are candidates for councilors spoke with the locals of Donja Gorica, Lješkopolje, Barutana, Gradac, Ber, Krus and Koman.
Vuković said that he has a "special sense of obligation and respect" towards that part of Podgorica, bearing in mind what, as he stated, generations of people originating from those regions have done for Montenegro.
"It is not easy to prove yourself to the people of Lješnja and Lješkopolje. Today, I stand before you quite sure that we have passed that test during the previous four years and that most of you are satisfied with what we have managed to achieve together," Vuković pointed out, adding that a "special relationship has developed between the city administration and the residents of that part of Podgorica of mutual respect and trust".
Vuković, saying that numerous projects "transformed Podgorica into a beautiful, well-organized, green modern city", also said that the current city administration spent "every moment of time and every euro of money" in the development of all parts of the city. "From the construction of six new boulevards, two bridges, 17 parks, 54 playgrounds, 76 polygons, through the reconstruction of public lighting, to the beginning of the construction of the project of the century, the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the procurement of new buses and numerous others. Podgorica developed intensively, although everything stagnated around her. We made people believe in a better tomorrow and expect more from us."
The dynamic development of the city, the announcement adds, "can also be seen in this part of Podgorica – the new boulevard that connects Donja Gorica Kokote, Farmake, Lješanska nahija and Bere and Kruse and Komane with the city center, the Southwestern ring road with the Luča bridge..."
"We tackled decades-old problems - this summer, after 30-40 years, people from these parts had a regular water supply, we upgraded the Kaluđerovo oko water source, reconstructed the water supply network in Barutana, Goljemadi, the village of Briđe, Bigor, Podstrana, Liješnje, Kokota, built a new water supply system in Komani and Beri, started to build a water supply network for Gornja Lješanska nahija, and a tender for the construction of a reservoir is also being announced, and after 100 years the inhabitants of Gornja Lješanska nahija will get water", said Vuković.
He also reminded of the built playgrounds in that part of the city, the organized sports fields, the sports and recreation zone in Farmaci, as well as the works that were carried out in the yards and on the school buildings.
"We will not rest on our laurels when we win on October 23, because we are not such people. We have not finished the work, there are many more projects waiting for us - the construction of the Western Ring Road, which will connect the 21st May Boulevard with the new boulevard towards Danilovgrad. I am proud of how we worked in the past period. It was only through responsible work and housekeeping that it was possible to increase the budget of Podgorica from 60 to 106 million euros. "We did not divide, even though we live in a divided society. We have always talked openly, honestly and honestly with people. We took care of the interests of Podgorica, its citizens, the interests of Montenegro and preserved its pride and image", concluded Vuković.
